Excellent video! Many indigenous peoples observed time as being circular rather than linear as we look at it today. They lived their life by this rule and they knew that it was only a matter of time before “what comes around goes around” no matter how much time had elapsed.

I don't know about you but for me, this video is giving me goosebumps. It may be because I'm not as old as others, and other people keep saying that time flies by so I grew up fearing that my time would fly by as well. And with the addition of this pandemic and staying indoors for long, it sure felt that way. Hopefully, we will see the cure that Michael was talking about in this video before our lives end. But before that... I gotta lay down and "fall behind" for a while

Päev tagasi

I tend to think of time as something that can be magnified. Similar to how an object can, but more so in an abstract way. Just like you can look at things under a microscope to see more minute details, you can in a way, do the same with time. However, I don't know of a tool that does this. It's more or less just something I think our minds do authentically. Just like how you were saying if we sit an are solely focused on time passing, it's likely it'll feel like it's passing rather slowly. On the other hand, doing something entertaining, time seems to go by more quickly. I don't believe that time necessarily speeds or slows. But that magnification fluctuates based on various perceptual factors. I'm not really sure to why this generally happends. I'd imagine the reason may vary from person to person, similar to how general perceptions do. I believe, that alot of variables that go into the nature of perceived time is relative. When you're 10, a year is relatively long. (1/10th of your life) An if you're older, say about 30, a year seems relatively smaller now. Not that a years time increased or decreased in actuality. Just in a perceptual sense relative to your life. In theory, 3 years to someone who is 30 years old, should feel relatively similar to 1 year to someone who is 10.  It's exactly one tenth of both their lives at that exact point. Think about it in terms of physical size. The only thing in terms of sheer appearance that tells us our size, is our size relative to the things around us. Suppose everything in your world began growing at a consistant relative rate including your own body. You'd have no way of detecting any growth relative to the phsyisical world around you. For all we know, that's happening now. Which is because we only know our size in relation to other things. Well, I believe time is very similar but as I said earlier, in a more abstract sense, not physical. I personally believe that without the relative nature of things, we'd have no conceivable perceptions. This principle includes perceptions of time, but in a more ambiguous sense. I believe this is because our perceptions of time depends on the sum of many complex variables within our minds. Everyone generally experiences the duration of a minute in different ways. Depending on not only their age and what is happening during any given minute, but also a combination of their life experiences most likely plays a role. To me, perceptions of time are extremely complex. Especially in a universal or general sense. Basically because time itself is something we can only really talk about in abstract ways. It's not something physical. Or even detectable by our typical 5 senses. So we can't rely on our senses to help validate it like we can in seeing something for a sense of size. Yet, it's something we're all aware of in one way or another, but you can't ever quite put your finger on it.

Surely the passage of time being a construct of the mind and therefore being subjective as Michael explains means that if time itself were to slow down it would not be noticed. For example like the film click when a character other than the protagonist is paused to them the time has not been paused, something everyone forgets because everyone thinks themselves the protagonist and therefore if time were to pause they wouldn’t normally think it could be me that doesn’t notice it. It’s like being in a stasis chamber in a sense because unless you are confronted with evidence to suggest the opposite it would seem as though no time at all had passed since you went into stasis. There is a lot interesting philosophical questions relating to existence and time of course is one of them.
